The National Information System (NIS), is a national Wide Area Network (WAN) that links homogenous information generating centers operating together. Sub-networks are connected together forming a sartorial information where information is retrieved and exchanged. The different sub-networks are connected to form the National Information System (NIS) as the main referral point.

  The national information system was established in 1993, and under the new law of the center in 2003, which is one of it's duties,article7 – b; "building an integrated information system and management at the national level, so that links between governmental institutions within the national network through which, in coordination with each other to provide information and knowledge of economic, social and technological new and more inclusive, so as to ensure smooth flow This information to beneficiaries in the public and private sectors. and to this end the governmental institutions are committed in collaboration with the National Information Technology Centre for building such a system".
